DeepBlue comment: This is one true all-in-one lighting system, metal halide as the main source of lighting, 250w means it is plenty of light even for high light required coral such as SPS. The mh is driven by external electronic ballast so it is quiet, less heat and gives a longer life to your mh bulb. Being external it reduces the weight of the light plus the heat doesn't get into the light fixture. 4 x T5 as supplement and help reaches the place where the metal halide doesn't. 4 x dual led moonlight give it a good night viewing.
The light is intercool by some heavy duty fans and this helps increase the light output and the life of the tubes. (Specially on T5 lighting)
All of this pack into one light fixture and can be controlled by switch or on timers through the separate power cord.

As some of you may know a number of export hobbyists manage to keep light hungry sps dominated tank with T5 lighting opposites to some advance hobbyist mentioning T5 lighting is useless for sps or are only good for supplement to the metal halide.
The reason for this come to the quality of the T5 unit and what makes a good T5 is their ballast and reflector. Good quality ballast and reflector are very expensive comparing to low quality ones that's why you see there is a rather large price difference on different brand T5 lighting.
Second reason is what we call T5 lighting in aquarium industry mean T5 high output (T5HO) however in lighting industry there is 2 different type the normal T5 and the T5HO where there is a huge differences in the output, wattage and price. Many un-branded low quality T5 lighting claims to be T5HO lighting but uses standard T5 ballast (or overdriving the ballast to get close to 54w). That's why when you replace the standard tubes to some higher quality one it won't fire up or seems very dim compare to what it should be, this is because high quality tubes require the full amount of wattage from a good quality T5HO ballast to run.
New version of LC120 comes with better heat release design, brighter reflector and high quality electronic T5HO ballast. It also offers both legs and hanging kit to mount the light.

ReefLux is the first true 10000K full spectrum metal halide bulb to be offered to the aquarium market. Other manufacturers claim to offer a 10000K lamp but that is just a marketing number of their best attempt to offer a full spectrum 10000K lamp. This is why they have a yellow or orange appearance and need to have some kind of fluorescent actinics to balance it out. Generally the more yellow or orange a bulb the more PAR the bulb will produce. ReefLux offers you the highest PAR rating without having to flood your aquarium with high powered fluorescent blue bulbs. The ReefLux 12000K has the performance of the 10000K but with a touch of blue added.
